Abstract Sexual dysfunction is a frequent long-term complication following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). This multicenter, prospective, randomized controlled trial evaluated the feasibility and efficacy of a multimodal intervention targeting sexual function and early detection of genital chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) in adult recipients of HSCT. Participants were randomized 1:1 to the intervention or usual care.
Highlights. • The introduction of lymph node staging at a national level takes time. • 13.6% of intermediate-risk patients had lymph node metastasis. • Only 6% were upstaged from stage I to stage IIIC after lymphadenectomy. • Lymph node metastasis in intermediate-risk patients compromised survival. • Survival was not compromised in non-staged as compared to lymph node-negative patients.
