The 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes have had a profound impact on the psychological well-being of both direct victims and non-victims. While extensive research has been conducted on the psychological effects of earthquakes on those directly affected [56], this study uniquely focuses on the indirect impact on non-victims, particularly residents of Istanbul. The findings reveal significant psychological distress among non-victims, highlighting the broader societal implications of natural disasters.
