Gellan gum (low acyl) (GG), sodium periodate (NaIO4), β-glycerophosphate disodium salt hydrate (β-GP), and 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) were purchased from Sigma Chemical Co (St. Louis, USA). Gelatin (GEL), ethylene glycol, and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) were supplied from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM), and fetal bovine serum (FBS) were obtained from Gibco (Carlsbad, CA, USA).
