Letter: I read Bronson’s comments as a warning against authoritarianism, not an endorsement
This is in response to Ivan Hodes’ recent letter (“Why no more scrutiny of Bronson, Church past statements?“) implying that gubernatorial candidate Dave Bronson believed that Adolf Hitler was a good leader for Germany. I appreciate Ivan including a link to the original article. I’d encourage you to click on the link and make your own judgment. I did and concluded that Dave Bronson is no defender of Hitler or his authoritarian ideologies. Bronson seeks to warn us.
Anchorage Proposition 2 supports seniors and libraries
Remember when ice cream only cost a quarter? These days, 25 cents won’t buy much, but for less than a dollar, voters can still support some of the most popular facilities at the heart of our community. This spring, we have an opportunity to give back to our community and invest in three municipal facilities that are vital to our daily lives.
Letter: Support Proposition 7
Thousands of Anchorage area seniors, youngsters and others need help from voters in this spring’s municipal election. Voting begins after ballots go in the mail on March 17 and ends on April 7 when the polls close. I ask voters in the Municipality of Anchorage to mark their ballots yes for Proposition 7.
Letter: Difficult choices
Neither Sens. Lisa Murkowski nor Dan Sullivan are blind supporters of President Donald Trump. If and when the Senate receive the articles of impeachment from the House they will face a dilemma. The U.S. Constitution, Article I, section 3, clause 6 specifies that senators, when sitting on a trial of impeachment, “shall be on Oath or Affirmation.” Senators all swear a general oath to uphold the Constitution, but the oath taken in impeachment trials is more finely tuned.
