We discovered that professional teams reoriented the focus of their community engagement activities in response to the environmental jolt. In particular, our analysis suggests the following areas had greater prominence in the peri-pandemic timeframe, compared with the pre-pandemic period: local and small business, food insecurity, unemployment, frontline workers, remote learning, and mental health.
