The longstanding Entrance to Aspen Project is advancing through the federal and state environmental review processes, according to an information update submitted to Aspen City Council. As the project reevaluation progresses, staff also gave notice that a request for additional project funding is to be expected due to an expanding project timeline and scope demanding beyond what was included in the original budget.

This summer, the Aspen Saturday Market has helped the Aspen Animal Shelter find huge success with adopting out dogs to their forever homes. “It’s great exposure for the animals,” Aspen Animal Shelter Executive Director Seth Sachson told The Aspen Times. “In general, it’s just great vibes, but we always end up connecting — and always at least one adoption each Saturday.” Sachson and the shelter usually bring what he considers a manageable two to five adoptable dogs to the market every week.

Aspen City Council considered the regulations of yard signs at a work session Monday, after they were offered the options of repealing the code regulating temporary signs and yard signs or amending the regulations of their time, place and manner. City council originally initiated and adopted Policy Resolution 118 Series of 2025 to consider amendments to the Land Use Code Section 26.510 (Signs) in September 2025.
