On Friday, Jan. 6, BYU-Idaho released two official notices — one announcing a worldwide devotional featuring Elder Jeffrey R. Holland and his wife, Sister Patricia T. Holland, and another regarding dating safely on campus and how to avoid the potential dangers that may come. On Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. Elder Holland and his wife will speak at a young adult fireside. On Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 11:30 a.m. in the BYU-Idaho Center, Shirley Weekes, the student accounts coordinator, gave her devotional address titled, “Our Journey of Life,” which focused on the everyday efforts to reach perfection. She began her talk with an experience she had in which she was called to give a prayer at church in Relief Society. As she bowed her head to start the prayer, she noticed a toothpaste stain going down the front of her dress.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 11:30 a.m., Shirley Weekes, the student accounts coordinator, will give her devotional address in the BYU-Idaho Center. She will focus her message on the significance of striving for perfection, but not letting the pressure of it get the best of you. “A lot of us feel like we need to be perfect and if we’re not doing things perfectly, we’re hard on ourselves,” Weekes said.
