Last night Jinkx Monsoon came to York Barbican as part of her first solo tour since 2022. By Graeme Smith She was solo but not alone as joining her on stage was long time collaborator Major Scales on keys as well as The Badlings on drum and bass, giving her the rock band she always craved to go on tour with. Support came from friend and comedian Lucas Arnold.

As Andrew Cushin opens Museum Gardens for another music and comedy festival it’s glorious. The event is blessed by Mother Nature in the capital of God’s country. By Graeme Smith It was in October 2019 that I discovered the act for York Calling through the provocatively titled and compositionally rich single People Are Idiots. It was a song that truly broke the mould and established Paul Mosley as an artist to keep an eye on for me.
