Showers return as the weekend gets started with widespread rain expected across the region through the first half of Saturday. There will be a few areas of heavier rain through midday, but that looks most likely along and south of the I-95 corridor. Through the second half of the afternoon the rain will start to taper off an may even give way to some peeks of sunshine to the north and west before sunshine.

There may be a few isolated showers around for the morning commute Friday in the Philadelphia region, but that should clear out by late morning, leaving mostly cloudy, but also mainly dry conditions for the rest of the day. The heat and humidity will increase a little for Friday as temperatures climb to near 90 degrees, feeling more like the low 90s thanks to the humidity.

The best way to plan for your Saturday is to plan on rain. Widespread showers will move across the region through the entire day with pockets of more moderate-heavy rainfall. In addition to the rain it'll also be cool and breezy. Temperatures will be in the low-middle 50s all day with a persistent northeast wind around 15 mph, gusting to 30 mph at times. Winds will be even stronger closer to the Shore, gusting to 35 mph through the day.
