Great Trinity Forest

It is easy to get into a rut and shoot everything the same way, i.e – sharp, F/8, sun over your shoulder, literal. The results can be nice, but sometimes just a bit common, and dare say it, even boring. Don’t get me wrong. I shoot with that exact formula all the time. But then I like to get a little jiggy and take a few chances. When these little creative moods strike, we photographers have countless options. It is a simple formula – I look at the situation and let my imagination run loose.

I am getting ready to hit the road for my Autumn Elk and Aspens Workshop at Vermejo Park Ranch in New Mexico and a welcome escape from this Texas heat. I love that place. This will be my first fall workshop there, and I can’t wait to hear the elk bugling across the meadows, watch them spar and court the ladies, see the autumn aspens and cottonwoods glow with fall color. I will try to post some pics during the next week during what little free time I have.

I have the cover image and an inside page as well. I love what IOM does and am very happy to help tell stories of climate change and its impact on the people of the world. That is especially true for Morocco and its wonderful people and landscapes.
