The following is the opinion and analysis of the writers: For 50 years, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona has been there when our neighbors in Southeastern Arizona (Pima, Graham, Greenlee, Cochise and Santa Cruz counties) needed us. As former members of the Board of Directors, we have seen that work from the inside. We have seen when demand surged, budgets tightened, and difficult decisions had to be made.

Introduction to the Meta Omega on Medium
Welcome! This is the first in a series of introductory articles about the Meta Omega System (MOS). In this journey, we’ll explore how the MOS navigates a sliding scale of phenomena, from the teeny-tiny to the grand and global. Metaphysics, our dear friend, tries to pinpoint and explain the basic building blocks of reality and how they relate to each other. It’s like asking, “What is there?
Local opinion: We must choose compassion over hatred
The following is the opinion and analysis of the writer: Years ago when we descended the slope toward the cavernous entrance to Yad Vashem, the holocaust memorial in Jerusalem, I looked up and saw a bas relief on the stone archway above me of two young brothers who had been murdered at a death camp. They looked to be about the same age as our sons whom we had left at home. I felt a great, explosive expansion in my chest and I collapsed to my knees and wept.
Living works of art
Words Jeffrey Bowden and Greg Hart, The Conservatory Garden and Home, Unley | Photographs Jeffrey Bowden, Simon and Patricia Dwyer What’s not to love about living sculptures? Those closely clipped, shaped perennials known as topiary, providing impact to a garden scape either through strategically placed accents or repetition. The plants generally used for topiary specimens are those with dense foliage that have compact or columnar growth habits.

Shoppable content in 2022: What’s next for social commerce
Batman and Robin, Bert and Ernie, Ilana and Abbi, Oprah and Gayle, me and great blog posts. What do these duos have in common? They’re iconic because of the way they complement and support each other, while winning over their audience. In digital marketing, the dynamic duo currently taking the world by storm is content and commerce — a.k.a. shoppable content. An ever-evolving trend, it’s more important than ever to stay on top of this e-commerce behemoth. Here’s how.
Fresh Ideas for Reducing Your Self-Storage Property Taxes
Since the arrival of COVID-19, no real estate sector has seen property values rise faster than self-storage. It’s even outpacing warehouses, which are skyrocketing in the face of demand for fulfillment centers to handle spiking e-commerce volumes. Simply put, self-storage is booming, and it isn’t going unnoticed by investors; nor will assessors, who are charged with valuing properties for ad valorem tax purposes, ignore the trend.
Greg Hart: Bring Back the Joy
Greg Hart: Bring Back the Joy The following is the opinion and analysis of the writer: What is the greatest school-learning experience you have ever had? The one that sticks with you and brings a smile to your face? In my case, it was 60 years ago as fourth grader in group of about 70 kids in Northern California. We were on a field trip in the foothills identifying wildflowers, and then pressing them into a little book that we would keep. We also identified and made plaster casts of animal prints.

Don’t get left behind: L&D in the digital age Greg Hart, March 18, 2020 Transformation in learning and development is seriously lagging behind and failing to keep up with user demand We don’t need to look very far to see how mobile technology has revolutionised industries. How to Fight Excessive Property Taxes During COVID-19
Cash-strapped municipalities may look to extract more revenue from commercial properties. It would be difficult to conceive of a more impactful event for the commercial real estate market than the coronavirus pandemic. Short of finding a cure for COVID-19, the tremendous state of flux in the sector will test the resourcefulness of commercial property owners and operators for months or years to come.
How government, private partnerships use jobs to fight addiction
By Greg Hart and Lanny Wilson Guest columnists Despite increased investment and attention from public officials, the opioid epidemic continues to wreak havoc on communities across the country. In 2017 alone, Chicagoland experienced over 2,000 opioid-related fatalities and nearly 13,400 non-fatal overdoses. Most citizens now have only one degree of separation from someone who has personally been impacted by opioid addiction or, tragically, an overdose.
Letter: Rosemont Mine
In his excellent piece of March 10, Rosemont go-ahead casts aside EPA fears over Water, Reporter Tony Davis reports that The Army Corps of Engineers has issued the final permit required for the Rosemont Mine Project over the strong objections of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Rosemont Project was ill- conceived from its very inception, and represents yet another desecrating assault on our shared and essential habitat.
Greg Hart: Standing Rock matters
We are living through a time of moral chaos. What is right? What is wrong? What is true? What is false? What is the right direction, the wrong direction? The right response, the wrong response? Is it now o.k. to be racist, sexist, anti-semitic, to foment violence, to be ignorant of the toll we exact on our planet? Is it now o.k. for men to assault women? For Americans to call for the registration of people based on their religion?

What is it with brain surgeons? The strange ideas of leading GOP presidential candidate and retired brain surgeon Ben Carson have been making the headlines a lot lately. I have previously written about about brain surgeon Dr. Eben Alexander, who launched a new career on the lecture circuit after writing a bestselling book, Proof of Heaven, in which he claimed he visited heaven while in a coma, then come back to life.
