Lakeland & Borders ILCA Open at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club by Greg Liggins 8 Sep 10:35 BST Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club welcomed 21 entrants to their annual ILCA open on Saturday 6th September, forming part of the 2025 ILCA Lakeland & Borders series. Despite the record dry summer, DRSC benefits from circa 1,000 acres of water when full, so despite a longer than usual walk down to launch, there was still more than plentiful sailing area once the fleet were afloat.

ILCA Lakeland & Borders Grand Prix at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club by Greg Liggins 18 Oct 04:20 PDT Nineteen ILCAs entered for the Lakeland & Borders Grand Prix at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club on 12th October 2024. The forecast of 12 to 28 knots meant some uncertainty over what conditions would be expected. Competitors rigged up on the grassy lawns in bright sunshine and watched as the wind speed increased to gusts of around 25kts - evidentially it was going to be at the upper end.

Lakeland & Borders ILCA Grand Prix Series 2023 by Greg Liggins 30 Oct 10:25 PDT The 2023 Lakeland & Borders ILCA/Laser Grand Prix series took in a total of 12 venues (with a further planned event at Beadnell cancelled in advance due to high winds). Just under 130 different competitors took part in one or more events, with Blackpool & Fleetwood YC taking the prize for most entries with 26 at their open.
