Good vibrations: Sternal vibration enhances white matter density and interoceptive awareness
Abstract Vibration-based therapies are understudied but promising methods for alleviating psychiatric symptoms, particularly when paired with behavioral practices. The potential neuroplastic changes associated with a novel neurostimulation method, sternal vibration, and associations with clinical change remain unknown.

425. Breath-Focused Mindfulness Training Improves Attentional Control in a Diverse Trauma-Exposed Sample
Many trauma survivors experience diminished attentional control, particularly in emotional contexts. We recently observed that exteroceptive vibration-signaling during breath-focused meditation improved attention in a pilot study of trauma-exposed people.

Partner intimate touch is associated with increased interpersonal closeness, especially in non-romantic partners
Orgasmic Meditation (OM) is a practice where partners engage in a practiced series of consent, safety signals, and 15 minutes of manual genital stimulation. The only goal is to feel sensations. The partners are referred to as “stroker”, the person (any gender) providing the manual stimulation, and “strokee”, the woman receiving the stimulation. The practice begins by laying a series of blankets and pillows on the ground to the comfort of the couple.

EEG to Primary Rewards: Predictive Utility and Malleability by Brain Stimulation
Theta burst stimulation (TBS) is thought to affect reward processing mechanisms, which may increase and decrease reward sensitivity. To test the ability of TBS to modulate response to strong primary rewards, participants hypersensitive to primary rewards were recruited. Twenty men and women with at least two opposite-sex, sexual partners in the last year received two forms of TBS. Stimulations were randomized to avoid order effects and separated by 2 hours to reduce carryover.
Vigilant attention to threat, sleep patterns, and anxiety in peripubertal youth
Vigilant attention to threat is commonly observed in anxiety, undergoes developmental changes in early adolescence, and has been proposed to interfere with sleep initiation and maintenance. We present one of the first studies to use objective measures to examine associations between vigilant attention to threat and difficulties initiating and maintaining sleep in an early adolescent anxious sample. We also explore the moderating role of development (age, puberty) and sex.

Increased pupil dilation to angry faces predicts interpersonal stress generation in offspring of depressed mothers
Interpersonal stress generation is one mechanism hypothesized to increase risk for the intergenerational transmission of depression. Although there is some evidence of stress generation in offspring of depressed mothers, specific predictors of stress generation in these youth remain unknown.
