Interview

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Jake Barnes from Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. And Mr. Hemingway sometimes feels pretty fictional to me as well.

What's your favorite social network?

I love the connections that Facebook offers--but Twitter seems to be the place where I connect or confront issues and ideas.

Why did you become a journalist?

Maybe the question would be why have I never stopped. Because there are some truths that have to be told in real time.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I was the music and culture journalist, which should not surprise. I later worked for a music magazine and wrote sports for my hometown paper

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I'm a longtime fan of The Atlantic, and continue to read--and listen to podcasts--from them.
