Community plays a crucial role in fostering growing ecosystems. In Baltimore, like many other cities, the connections that enable knowledge-sharing, business deals, hiring and more central parts of regional innovation grow through events that actually put people in a room together. The Baltimore Tech Meetup is one of the most important threads in this tapestry.

Here’s Why We Are Giving #BaltimoreTech Meetups A Refresher
Where do technologists go to meet other tech workers across sectors to share best practices? In every city around the world, there is some meetup, coffee spot, happy hour or something that makes the community feel closer to one another. In Baltimore, we are working towards refreshing where these things happen through sponsorship and co-organizing Baltimore’s Tech Group. This means we want to build a bigger network and facilitate more exchanges that benefit technology practitioners.

City Data Analysis: Just One Example of How LLMs and AI Can Help Efficiency
How can the mainstream adoption of language learning models (LLMs) and other generative AI tools help workers be more productive and efficient in their work? Data analysis is one area where the use of prompts can enable non-technical professionals to work with data more easily, without the need for assistance from developers or data practitioners. This approach can make data analysis more accessible to workers who lack technical skills in SQL or other programming languages.

The Equity-First Vaccination Initiative’s Challenges And Successes
Throughout the pandemic, and particularly before vaccines became available, Black and Latinx people in the United States have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. The Rockefeller Foundation saw an opportunity to promote equity in the COVID-19 response through vaccination, and in April 2021, launched the Equity-First Vaccination Initiative (EVI).

How a Cambridge history professor discovered explorer William Clark's illegal Missouri land grab
Robert Lee, a professor of U.S. history at Cambridge University, contends that early American explorer William Clark — famed for the Lewis and Clark Expedition — was involved in stealing 10.5 million acres of Native American land in what is now central and northern Missouri. “What’s past, is Prologue”: There Has Never Been a Better Time for Entrepreneurs to Revisit the SWOT Analysis
Not many bestselling business books from decades past stand the test of time, but for entrepreneurs, Michael Gerber’s E-Myth is as relevant today as ever. The E-Myth is worth the 2-hour read, but allow me to share a one-sentence book review: Entrepreneurs spend too much time working “IN” the business and not enough time working “ON” the business.
I’m a Lifelong Bucs Fan, But I Can’t Root For A Super-Spreader Superbowl
I feel like life is cheating me. For the first time in National Football League history, my hometown Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing in my hometown Raymond James Stadium for a hometown Superbowl ring, but my conscience is eating me. Amidst last year’s headlines of lost lives, jobs, faiths and relationships, the despondency of one disillusioned sports fan is usually letter-to-the-editor fodder, if that.
