Have you ever used a typewriter?

I have. My handwriting was atrocious all the way back to elementary school so I actually typed papers instead of writing them.

How is social media changing news?

The real-time aspect of social media means that edited news is "olds." Editors and journalists have to add real analysis to be useful.

What's your favorite social network?

Facebook has the largest reach and the ability to make long-form posts so for all its faults, which are legion, it's still the best.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Become a subject-matter expert. The days of just being generically smart are over. You need to have the background to sort reality from BS
