Bassist Joe Thompson has documented this dynamic entertainingly in his excellent memoir of his successful balancing of touring the UK and Europe with life as an early-morning rural postman, Sleevenotes.

A year after the group released their critically acclaimed debut album, Guilty of Everything, in 2014, Palermo was brutally beaten by a group of men following a show in Oakland, causing degenerative brain damage.
