1. Introduction The genus Talaromyces was first described by Benjamin in 1955 as a sexual state of Penicillium [1]. In 2011, Professors Houbraken and Samson redefined the genus Talaromyces based on genetic identification and the priority principle of international nomenclature regulations [2]. The number of Talaromyces species is rapidly increasing, owing to the availability of reliable and complete sequence data contributed from around the world [3].
