Matt Moore has worked for The Associated Press in the United States, Europe, Africa and the Middle East for nearly 14 years, serving as chief of bureau for Germany and Poland; news editor for the Nordic and Baltic nations; and covering contentious issues in Iraq, Tunisia, Israel and thereabouts. He relocated back to the U.S. in 2010 so his two children could better learn their native tongue and has been in Philadelphia for nearly three years, overseeing The AP’s news gathering operations in Pennsylvania, working with a team of 13 reporters. Moore is an inveterate wanderer, having moved more than 20 times in the first 18 years of his life as an Army brat. He holds a journalism degree from Auburn University where he learned to never be complacent and always double- and triple-check claims, comments and more. In other words, if your mother says she loves you, get a second source to verify it. (He did and she does.)
