Clinicopathological characteristics of transcription factor-defined subtypes in bladder small cell carcinoma - BMC Cancer
The 9 patients with bladder SmCC comprised 5 men and 4 women, with a mean age at diagnosis of 68.9 years (range: 54 to 87 years). Five patients reported a history of smoking. The initial stage was stage II in 3 patients (33%), stage III in 4 patients (44%) and stage IV in 2 patients (22%). Most of the tumors were widespread (6 cases), while the others were located in the dome (2 cases) and on the trigone (1 case).
