During his Master's program at the University of Galway, Gunjan has delved into various subjects, including Data Journalism and Visualization, Global Media and Society, and Reporting Politics and Economics. He has also gained hands-on experience through projects like developing an in-depth multimedia news story on the impact of climate change across local communities and participating in a newsroom simulation to produce weekly digital and broadcast content.
Before his current studies, Gunjan earned an MA in Communication and Journalism from Mumbai University, where he focused on topics like Reporting and Editing, Communication Theory, and Media Criticism. His thesis on "Media Ethics in the Age of Digital Journalism" explored the evolving landscape of journalistic practices in the digital age.
Before that, Gunjan completed a Bachelor of Mass Media from Mumbai University, where he gained a solid foundation in the fundamentals of mass communication, newspaper and magazine making, and print production. His capstone project involved creating a mock publication targeted at young adults, showcasing his writing, editing, and layout design skills.
