1 Introduction PND, including POD and POCD, are common following anesthesia and surgery in older patients and significantly increase morbidity and mortality [1-3]. Elderly patients are particularly susceptible to experiencing prolonged memory deterioration and impaired information processing, contributing to a substantial economic burden attributed to restricted daily activities and an increased likelihood of dementia [4]. However, the underlying mechanism of PND is unclear.
