Gurupreet Sethi’s Biography

I am a profoundly motivated immunologist with extensive research knowledge of more than eight years of inflammatory and structural changes in airways during the asthmatic condition. Currently, I am focusing on the contribution of lung resident memory T cells in the development of Asthma.
I am highly skilled in both in vivo and in vitro models to assess the function of immune cells, with a strong interest in the development of immunotherapeutics for patients.

During my PhD, I have explored the contribution of Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) protein under the chronic settings of asthma using its pharmacological inhibitor, Olaparib. Therein, I have developed an improved model of chronic asthma, which reflects the symptoms of the disease more closely, both persistence of airway inflammation and steroid-resistant remodelling features.
