Guy McCarthy
Guy McCarthy’s Biography
I am a journalist with photo, video, online, hyperlocal breaking news and investigative skills. Recent highlights include seeing my work published and fully credited in the A section of LA Times print edition and on NBC Nightly News. I have more than 15 years in journalism, and my contributions at the last two papers I worked for helped earn regional and national honors, including the Edward J. Meeman Award for Environmental Reporting at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Intrepid reporting includes a decade of frontline fire-flood coverage on some of the most destructive and deadly incidents in state history and investigative land-use hazard reporting from Venezuela.
