Introduction Dementia is becoming more common with increased life expectancy globally. There are >55 million patients with dementia worldwide, and 10 million new cases are reported each year.1 Therefore, the risk factors of dementia should be investigated to reduce disease burden. Obesity is a known risk factor of cognitive deficit or dementia,2-4 although the relationship is inconsistent depending on different phenotypes of obesity.
