Coherent control of rare earth 4f shell wavefunctions in the quantum spin liquid Tb2Ti2O7 - Nature Communications
Abstract The resonant excitation of electronic transitions with coherent laser sources creates quantum coherent superpositions of the involved electronic states. Most time-resolved studies have focused on gases or isolated subsystems embedded in insulating solids, aiming for applications in quantum information. Here, we focus on the coherent control of orbital wavefunctions in the correlated quantum material Tb2Ti2O7, which forms an interacting spin liquid ground state.

Resonant x-ray diffraction study using circularly polarized x rays on antiferromagnetic ${\mathrm{TbB}}_{4}$
Resonant x-ray diffraction (RXD) measurements at the Tb L3 and the M5 edges were carried out on a single crystal of a rare-earth tetraboride, TbB4, which exhibits antiferromagnetic (AFM) order breaking both space-inversion and time-reversal symmetries.
Ferromagnetic quantum critical phenomena in single-crystalline ${\mathrm{SrCo}}_{2}{({\mathrm{Ge}}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{P}}_{x})}_{2}$
Abstract Single crystals of SrCo2(Ge1−xPx)2 were grown using a self-flux method, and their physical properties were investigated by means of magnetization and specific-heat measurements. Although the compounds near both ends of x exhibit paramagnetism, those with 0.39⩽x⩽0.58 exhibit ferromagnetism at low temperatures. The analysis of critical exponents and spin fluctuations revealed a weak itinerant ferromagnetic character.
Green space and loneliness: A systematic review with theoretical and methodological guidance for future research
4.10. Conclusions and future directions The key finding from the review is that the balance of evidence points towards contact with nature and provision of green space as potential person-focussed and place-based interventions for reducing loneliness. However, this review also reveals the quantum of evidence linking green space and loneliness remains small, limited mostly to studies of cross-sectional design, and absent of a clear conceptual model.
Domain switching and exchange bias control by electric field in the multiferroic conical magnet $\mathrm{M}{\mathrm{n}}_{2}\mathrm{Ge}{\mathrm{O}}_{4}$
Abstract The electric-field effect on magnetism was examined in the multiferroic conical magnet Mn2GeO4, which shows a strong coupling between ferromagnetic and ferroelectric order parameters. The systematic evaluation of the electric polarization in the multiferroic phase below 5.5 K under various field cooling conditions reveals that small magnetic fields of 0.1 T significantly reduce the required electric fields needed to reach saturation.
Emergent spin-1 Haldane gap and ferroelectricity in a frustrated spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ ladder
Abstract We report experimental and theoretical evidence that Rb2Cu2Mo3O12 has a nonmagnetic tetramer ground state of a two-leg ladder comprising antiferromagnetically coupled frustrated spin-12 chains and exhibits a Haldane spin gap of emergent spin-1 pairs. Three spin excitations split from the spin-1 triplet by a Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction are identified in inelastic neutron-scattering and electron spin resonance spectra.
Transformation of ALK rearrangement-positive adenocarcinoma to small-cell lung cancer in association with acquired resistance to alectinib
A 43-year-old woman was diagnosed with lung cancer accompanied by multiple lung and brain metastases. Thoracoscopic lung biopsy and pathological analysis revealed an adenocarcinoma histology (Figure 1A). The patient underwent salvage therapy with the combination of cisplatin and pemetrexed, but she experienced disease progression after six cycles.
