Upon inflammation onset, immune cells are rapidly activated and recruited to protect the organ system from pathogen invasion or tissue injury [1]. However, in acute inflammation, such as in acute lung inflammation and acute liver failure (ALF), excessive neutrophils accumulation can exacerbate the condition, leading to an inflammatory storm rather than protecting the host [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10], [11].

A new strategy to fight tumor heterogeneity: Integrating metal-defect active centers within NADH oxidase nanozymes
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is a vital redox cofactor that lies at the heart of cell metabolism [1], [2], [3]. Intratumor metabolic networks are largely governed by the sustainable cycle between its oxidized and reduced forms (NAD+ and NADH, respectively). Not surprisingly, NADH cofactor, when being aberrantly consumed, may lead to severe metabolic disorder and energy crisis.

Since publication of the article the authors noticed the following errors: (1) The actin immunoblot (loading control) from Fig. 6B was mistakenly included in Fig. 6G. The correct actin immunoblot is attached. It demonstrates that there was equal loading in all of the lanes. (2) The three panels in Fig. 1A (HIF-1alpha, HIF-2alpha, and actin immunoblots) are identical to three panels in Fig. 1B of Gilkes et al. (Cancer Res. 73:3285, 2013).
Sapphire Fabry-Perot interferometer for high-temperature pressure sensing
Abstract An adhesive-free encapsulation sapphire Fabry–Perot interferometer (FPI) is proposed and demonstrated for high-temperature pressure measurements. The sapphire FPI sensor is packaged by zirconia ferrules and a zirconia sleeve, which is easy to be configured and low in cost. Owing to this packaging technology, the sapphire FPI sensor presents good stability and high temperature resistance.

Post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN), which develops after the resolution of a herpes zoster eruption, is an exceptionally drug-resistant neuropathic pain. The unsatisfactory management of PHN partly results from the difficulty in dissecting out its contributing factors due to the complexity of PHN mechanism.
