1 Introduction Chronic otitis media with effusion (COME) is defined as an accumulation of nonpurulent fluid, which can be mucoid or serous, within the middle ear space without evidence of an acute infection [1]. Despite its prevalence treatment and management remain complex and difficult, with many interventions, both medical and surgical.
