GLOBAL For several decades, the international mobility of degree-seeking students as a phenomenon was quite clear to understand in terms of sending and receiving countries, and took place principally from South to North. The main sending countries were China, India and South Korea, followed by a range of other ones, and the main host countries were the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, also referred to as the Big (Anglophone) Four, followed by France and Germany.
