MWC Watches
I purchased the MWC G10BH 2007 Spec via Telford Services UK in Dec 2006, which was held still boxed as a present for my Son prior to him entering basic training with the RAF, which he did in March 2007. Unfortunately after 3 weeks of use the second hand/indicator fell off (an obviously manufacturing fault). I immediately arranged a Warranty Return via Telford Services at an additional cost to me of £15 in April 2007.

What do you use your chronograph function for?
I was wondering what other members actually use their chronograph functions for. I was never under any illusion that I really needed the functionality of a chronograph (not to mention a tachymeter) when I bought my Speedmaster Date. I wanted it rather because of the sporty / technical look and, as I'm an engineer, I thought it would be cool to have a stopwatch on my wrist.
Please help identify this Seiko (8F56)
#1 · I just bought a watch on eBay but aside from knowing that it has an 8F56 movement (which was the one I was after), the seller doesn't seem to know much else about it. The movement/calibre can be read off the dial and case back, but there is nothing else to tell me what model this watch is. Any ideas? newbie question : as a military, would you go quartz or automatic ?
#1 · Greetings from Italy everyone. It happens quite often to see it on the news : both Italians or foreign military folks sporting Timex or Suuntos....and I'm ok with that. I'm not a military but I do am a WIS...and If I was a military I would choose a sturdy automatic instead of a dead cold quartz, although I own many and love all of them, especially my beloved Timexes.

The Perfect Pilot's Watch - almost... Review of Revue Thommen Chronograph
Joined Jan 11, 2007 · 2,590 Posts Hey Happy Jack - great review ( he says, somewhat belatedly ) I've just 'discovered' the Airspeed classic chronograph, which has the countdown bezel, which, along with the clear and labeled 5 minute / second markers around that very clear dial makes for an excellent aviation time piece.

Physics mock next week god help me
Basically I've spent the whole summer doing absolutely nothing which has come back to bite me in the arse as usual. Got a fairly good understanding of just about every topic in physics but that never translates into good exam results even when I have done the revision. Anyone know a way to quickly and effectively organise my knowledge so I don't fail this mock? Because, seriously, I am gonna have to work my arse off this year lol 0 reply
High Hopes for Connections of Kentucky Derby Longshot Happy Jack
It’s called “The fastest two minutes in Sports.” Twenty horses gather in the starting gate on the first Saturday in May for the Kentucky Derby. Time seems to freeze as jockeys, horses, and everyone else waits with bated breath for the gates to open. Each horse represents a journey. A triumph over the odds. The result of midnight dreams. The culmination of a selected breeding program. The completion of schooling and training. The consequence of careful daily care.

Very rare Fortis B-42 Cosmonaut Chrono Lemania 5100 version on eBay
Joined Mar 31, 2008 · 991 Posts Discussion Starter • #1 • 21 m ago Heads up for anyone interested - there's a vanishingly rare Fortis 644.27.11 chronograph for sale now on eBay. I have one of these and it took me two years to find it and 6 months to negotiate its purchase, back in 2009. In the 11 years since, I've heard of no more than 10-12 being sold.

This rare model (only 500 made) has the Sinn SZ01 movement, which emulates the Lemania 5012 / 5100 movements used in the original 1980s models, which works perfectly.
Should I trade my Lemania 5100 powered Fortis B-42 Cosmonaut LE Titanium (644.27.11) for a Rolex?
I sold several watches, including the Speedy Pro, added cash from some earlier sales and (with my wife's forbearance) a little from our joint bank account and bought the Rolex GMT. It's been an excellent watch which has had a regular place in my rotation and tends to get the most use of any of the current four. It's one of the most versatile watches made - a choice of three bezels - Black, Coke and Pepsi - I have all three; two bracelets - Oyster and Jubilee - and the option to wear it on a NATO.
