Broadband and Athermal Infrared Engineering: A Minimalist Meta-Composite Optical Architecture for a 100°C Temperature Span
1 Introduction Infrared detection technology enables high-contrast imaging and precise target identification by capturing thermal radiation signatures [1-4], serving as a critical pillar for strategic applications such as space exploration and aerial reconnaissance [5-7]. In recent years, the metalens has garnered widespread attention due to the exceptional design degrees of freedom and ultra-thin characteristics enabled by subwavelength nanostructures [8-11].
Paracrystalline graphite with combined high strength, plasticity and anomalous conductivity
|
Abstract Paracrystallization provides a route to achieving synergistic properties beyond conventional property trade-offs, but applying it to layered materials is challenging due to strong bonding anisotropy. Here, we report the synthesis of paracrystalline graphite, a paracrystalline state realized in a layered material, through a high-pressure-driven “local graphitization” of C60 crystals.

Cation Engineering on Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene for Enhanced Supercapacitive Energy Storage Click to copy article link Article link copied!
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Ti3C2Tx, one kind of MXene, is the most widely investigated in supercapacitors, because of its high specific capacitance, excellent conductivity, and open two-dimensional ion-transfer channel. However, the relatively narrow variable valence state of Ti atoms in Ti3C2Tx is overlooked, which is not conducive to higher capacitance.

Towards long-life 500 Wh kg−1 lithium metal pouch cells via compact ion-pair aggregate electrolytes - Nature Energy
Abstract The development of practical lithium metal cells is plagued by their limited lifespan, primarily due to the poor interfacial stability of the electrolytes. Here we present a compact ion-pair aggregate (CIPA) electrolyte that enables high-performance Li metal pouch cells under lean electrolyte conditions.
Patterns and organ treatment response of Erdheim-Chester disease with cardiac involvement
Discussion We described the clinical manifestations, imaging features, treatment response and outcome of patients with ECD with cardiac involvement within our large single-centre cohort. This was one of the largest cohort studies specifically examining cardiac involvement. We evaluated heart response based on pericardial effusion and heart metabolic response. Furthermore, we provided a comprehensive illustration of changes in cardiac mass size and large vessel infiltration.

Continuous humidity pump and atmospheric water harvesting inspired by a tree-pumping system
Box with proposed HP-AWH prototype The performance of our proposed HP-AWH is investigated by installing the prototype using a PS-20% sample (approximately 12.89 g) in the box containing a filled water beaker (containing 73 g water and an internal dimeter of 4.8 cm). The PS-20% sample was chosen because of its excellent sorption, desorption, and wicking properties, as well as the fact that it was less brittle than PS-30%, and it did not leak during the experiments at high RH.

Photo by James Harrison on Unsplash Pragmatic Programmers’ Mindset The Most Important Lesson When I was 19 years old, I entered the world of programming. Given the then searching skill and no one guide me how to learn about programming fast and effective, I spent 3 months learning Java (a programming language). After that, I started to code something out using Java. I was very frustrated when I couldn’t find a way to get the program running. Then if things started to work, it always came with bugs.

Boosting the Supercapacitor Performance of Activated Carbon by Constructing Overall Conductive Networks Using Graphene Quantum Dots Although high-surface-area activated carbons have been widely used for supercapacitors, they usually have limited capacitive and rate performances primarily because of the low conductivity and sluggish electrochemical kinetics caused by their amorphous microporous structure.

Integration of Inverse Nanocone Array based Bismuth Vanadate Photoanodes and Bandgap-Tunable Perovskite Solar Cells for Efficient Self-Powered Solar Water Splitting - Journal of Materials Chemistry A (RSC Publishing)
Bismuth Vanadate (BiVO4) has been regarded as a promising photoanode material for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting owing to its rich deposits and high corrosion resistance. However, the incompatibility of the penetration depth and short diffusion length limits its performance. To overcome this shortcoming, we develop a cost-effective stamping method to fabricate inverse nanocone array (ICA) substrates for supporting nanoporous Mo-doped BiVO4 films.
Hydrogen evolution electrocatalysis with binary-nonmetal transition metal compounds
The growing concern about global warming, environmental pollution and energy security has raised the demand for clean energy resources in place of fossil fuel. Cost-efficient generation of hydrogen from water-splitting through electrocatalysis holds tremendous promise for clean energy. Central to the electrocatalysis are efficient and robust electrocatalysts composed of earth-abundant elements, which are urgently needed for realizing low-cost and high-performance energy conversion devices.
