Interview

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means having the willingness to uncover injustices regardless of your own comfort level.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Instagram, Canva, and my Canon EOS camera.

Why did you become a journalist?

I was part of a 4-year journalism program and fell in love with its mission of elevating voices and uncovering issues.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I wrote articles for The Stinger for two years. I was the Deputy News Editor before I became Head News Editor and an online editor.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I wrote a longform profile on my college's mail room staff. It brought to light behind-the-scenes issues with the administration and faculty.
