Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Harriet the Spy. Boy, are most depictions of modern journalists terrible. I want the office (and staff!) Lucy Liu had in Set It Up.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email. Always.

Why did you become a journalist?

I love learning about new things, particularly things that surprise and delight, and telling other people about them.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Write, write and write some more. There are still paying jobs in this field, but there's also extremely fierce competition.
