It’s 2022. Let me reintroduce myself. My name is Heather Seaman. I’m a Radio and TV Broadcaster – have been for 20 years now – one of the first and few Black broadcast journalists in Canada able to seamlessly pivot between both mediums (radio, television), in multiple roles. I’ve inadvertently become a pivot pro (my term) or fill-in/backfill pro. But, that wasn’t the goal when I started out in the industry in the late 90’s.

A meat production facility in North York has temporarily suspended operations due to a COVID-19 outbreak. 78 workers at Belmont Meats, near Highway 400 and Steeles, have tested positive for the virus, with at least two of them testing positive for the U.K. variant, B117. The infected employees are now in quarantine at home for 14 days. Other workers there have been advised to get tested. The meat-processing plant has a total of 170 employees.
