Strength after cancer
June-Ann Furbert thought she was doing everything right when it came to her health. Cancer had taken her mother and aunts, so she understood the importance of keeping a close watch on her own wellbeing. As such, the diagnosis she received in 2014 came as a surprise: stage 3 aggressive breast cancer. “It was shocking. And it was shocking because I thought I was doing all the right things,” Mrs Furbert said.

Exploring the long-term neurological consequences of COVID-19 - Nature Reviews Neurology
Two recently published studies have provided new insights into the long-term effects of COVID-19 on the nervous system. In the first study, Catarina Rua and colleagues identified microstructural changes in the brainstem in post-hospitalized survivors of COVID-19. Innovative Program Reduces Nurse Turnover and Fosters Development
Cancer incidence is on the rise in the US, especially among the growing older population. New cancer cases in 2024 are expected to exceed 2 million, which is almost 5500 cases per day.1 Consequently, the retention of experienced oncology nurses is crucial to ensure that high-quality cancer care remains available. Unfortunately, the current shortage of oncology nurses is expected to worsen, as fewer people enter the profession while aging nurses retire.
Does the Botanical Gardens Need Saving?
At its peak it was a place of beauty and recreation, and also of plant science. So what happened to this 32 acre park, and why, after over 100 years of being tended to by the Government does it look so bleak now? About twenty years ago the Bermuda Botanical Gardens was thriving. Plants and trees were labelled and cared for; specialist collections took pride of place; there were guided tours and a library filled with books for reference.
The Convex End-to-End is Raising Funds for 7 Deserving Charities
Ask a room of strangers about the Convex End-to-End and, nine times out of ten, they will have participated or volunteered; the tenth person will know someone who has done both. As a fundraiser and physical challenge it’s like no other. First held in 1987, it has grown into a deeply woven tradition that’s part of our culture. Anne Mello, chair of the Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust, loves that the event has passed down through generations.
The power of group therapy
The rooms were beside the beach, the vibe was beautiful and calming - for a group of women suffering from trauma it was the perfect reprieve. They'd come to Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa at the invitation of Kelly Savery, a Bermudian trauma psychologist whose practice Taproot Psychology is based in the UK. The women arrived at the Sandys resort with a laundry list of problems that had kept them "stuck": traumatic grief, physical, sexual and emotional abuse were among them.

Real Adjustments You Can Make To Be More Self Confident
For a long time, self confidence was like my holy grail. I searched for it everywhere. I knew I had it at one point in my life but years of people pleasing, fear of not fitting in, financial struggle and the totally insane change of becoming a mother had me lost. I clawed my way out of the dark pit of devastating insecurity and in that fight I realized something really powerful and kind of shocking. Not only are we not taught how to be self confident….we don’t really know what self confidence is.

The Market itself is not advertised enough to students.

Some patients present to health services for help with illegal paraphilic behaviours, such as exhibitionism or downloading child pornography, for which they have never been arrested or convicted, but in which they are continuing to engage. Others, who have been convicted and referred for subsequent treatment, may admit to their therapists that they are reoffending while in treatment without disclosing this to external agencies.
