While each medication reduces blood sugar and helps regulate appetite, they vary in dosage, form and use. Ozempic is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction and kidney disease prevention, while Wegovy is approved for chronic weight management in certain individuals.
