Emergency Supply and Support Center readied for future disasters

This past week Hardwick Neighbor to Neighbor (HNtN) passed a milestone in its work helping the town respond to emergencies. A portable trailer has been purchased, outfitted and stocked, making it ready to be moved where it’s needed in response to future disasters. When the 2023 flood hit, the town manager and staff set up an Emergency Supply and Support Center (ESSC). At that time, there was no template for how that would happen.

Hardwick Trails Makes Good Use of Winter Wonderland

EAST HARDWICK – What a fabulous cross-country ski season! The Hardwick Trails winter sports crew have been busy. The dedicated volunteer trail groomers have worked hard to keep up with this year’s abundant snowfall; a host of ski instructors and Saturday morning cabin-tenders have helped outfit folks and guided them safely onto the trails.

Leash Required for Safe Trails

To the editor: The goal of the Hardwick Trails Committee is to ensure that all residents can have access to our beautiful trail network, and feel safe in doing so. It was therefore deeply disturbing to read a January 22 Facebook page message from a woman who snowshoes on the trails several times a week, accompanied by her leashed dog. Our policy is that all dogs on the trails should be leashed.
