The ATO releases draft guidance on its compliance and risk approach to restructures in response to the new debt deduction creation rules. On 9 October 2024, the ATO released Draft Practical Compliance Guideline - PCG 2024/D3 Restructures and the new thin capitalisation and debt deduction creation rules - ATO compliance approach (Draft PCG). This is the first substantive ATO guidance in relation to the new thin capitalisation and debt deduction creation rules (DDCR).
