1 Introduction Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a rare yet highly relapsing autoimmune astrocytopathy of the central nervous system (CNS), mainly characterized by optic neuritis, longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis, and area postrema syndrome [1].
