Acute and long-term effects of hip thrust training on athletic performance: a systematic review and meta-analysis
The results of this meta-analysis serve to reconcile a foundational debate surrounding the HT. For years, a significant body of research has established that the HT elicits superior gluteus maximus EMG activity compared to traditional exercises (Krause Neto et al., 2020; Krause Neto, Vieira & Gama, 2019), creating a plausible hypothesis that it would yield superior performance outcomes.

Effects of strength training on repeated sprint ability in team sports players: a systematic review
Team sports are characterized by an intermittent high-intensity exercise pattern, including sequences of repeated maximal or near maximal efforts ≤10s interspersed with short recovery intervals ≤60s (Spencer et al., 2005; Girard, Mendez-Villanueva & Bishop, 2011).
Lumbar extension peak-torque, muscle endurance and motor imagery in junior-elite basketballers with and without a history of low back pain: a pilot study
Twenty-six junior-elite male basketballers were recruited in Canberra, Australia. Athletes were eligible for the study if they played competitive basketball at the junior-elite level (i.e., played at the national and/or international level) and had unrestricted training in the two weeks prior to testing. Athletes were excluded if they were experiencing an episode of LBP at the time of testing or within the two weeks prior to testing.
The effect of rehabilitation time on functional recovery after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair: a systematic review and meta-analysis
The advantages and disadvantages of early versus delayed rehabilitation following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair have been extensively studied (Dickinson et al., 2017; Mazuquin et al., 2018). However, based on the available evidence, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) could not definitively conclude the optimal rehabilitation time and the program (Tashjian, 2011).

Does the combination of exercise and cognitive training improve working memory in older adults? A systematic review and meta-analysis
Discussion The current meta-analysis included 21 articles and explored the effect of CECT on working memory in older adults. The results support efficacy of CECT on working memory as compared to those receiving no intervention and the effect is modulated by the frequency of intervention and cognitive status. The results indicate that there is a significant benefit of CECT on working memory in the elderly compared to no intervention.
