Glutamate and GABA metabolism differs in MCS and VS patients Similar to Yu et al. (2021), we observed changes in the purine metabolic pathway and lipids between the two groups of patients with different CRS-R scores. Additionally, we noticed that a few metabolites, including L-glutamate, ophthalmic acid, gabapentin, and 1-pyrroline-5-carboxylic acid, related to glutamate and GABA metabolism were altered and had a good ability to distinguish these two groups of patients.
