The summer of 2024-25 saw tanks running dry across the Hibiscus Coast. Hibiscus Coast residents are being urged to prepare for a hotter, drier summer, with forecasters warning a developing “super El Niño” could bring weeks of little rain, dry conditions and increased fire risk across the region.

From wall decor to desk trinkets, Ōrewa Primary celebrates its young artists in a colourful display of their hard work. Ōrewa Primary transformed its classroom into a student art gallery for friends and whānau in June, with the students’ painted, moulded, splattered, shaded and feathered projects on display. The school has specialist teachers who teach science, music and art one day each week, with students rotating through each subject.
