Attitudes toward the 14-day rule When queried on the permissibility of culturing human embryos beyond 14 days under Japanese law and guidelines, 46.2% of researchers reported agreeing that human embryos should be cultured beyond 14 days, 29.3% reported being unable to judge, and 24.5% disagreed with the culturing of embryos beyond 14 days (Table 2).
