Hjem Vin returns

More than 150 guests attended the relaunch of Hjem Vin, marking the return of the Hjem team’s outdoor dining concept at South Causey Inn. Set within the grounds of The Farmhouse, where Hjem is enjoying a six-month residency, the launch barbecue saw chef-patron Alex Nietosvuori cook alongside his father, Swedish barbecue specialist Ulf Nietosvuori.

Michelin-starred House of Tides on Newcastle’s Quayside has introduced a new experience on Sunday evenings. After Hours sees the downstairs space shift into a looser, livelier environment every Sunday after 6.30pm. Built around the spirit of the great Parisian brasseries, the menu is tight and confident, while the cocktail lineup includes original creations built around quality spirits and house-made ingredients.

Award-winning cocktail bar Mother Mercy has launched its newest venue on Silver Street in Durham. Twice recognised among the UK’s Top 50 Cocktail Bars, Mother Mercy has built its reputation on expertly made cocktails, signature table service and a more personal, hosted experience than a traditional high-volume city centre bar. Located in the heart of Durham, the new venue adds to venues in Newcastle’s Cloth Market, Heaton and Fenwick, and sister venue Café Mercy on Grey Street.
