Body-wide multi-omic counteraction of aging with GLP-1R agonism
Main text (Cell Metabolism 37, 2362–2380.e1–e8; December 2, 2025) Following publication, Steve Horvath and colleagues at the Clock Foundation alerted us to a platemap error in the DNA methylation (DNAm) data. Our investigation pinpointed the potential source of this error. We provided samples on 96-well plates in a row-wise orientation instead of the column-wise orientation specified in the Clock Foundation’s protocol.
Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist in large vessel occlusion treated by reperfusion therapy—a phase 2 randomized trial - Nature Communications
Abstract We aimed to determine the effect of semaglutide on patients with acute large vessel occlusion (LVO) receiving endovascular therapy (EVT). In this phase 2, investigator-initiated, multicenter, prospective, randomized, open-label, blinded endpoint trial conducted in China, we recruited patients with disabling LVO undergoing EVT. Patients were randomized to semaglutide therapy (0.5 mg subcutaneous semaglutide before and 1 week after EVT) or standard therapy.

Mutant huntingtin induces neuronal apoptosis via derepressing the non-canonical poly(A) polymerase PAPD5 - Nature Communications
Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that play crucial roles in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Poly(A) RNA polymerase D5 (PAPD5) catalyzes the addition of adenosine to the 3′ end of miRNAs. In this study, we demonstrate that the Yin Yang 1 protein, a transcriptional repressor of PAPD5, is recruited to both RNA foci and protein aggregates, resulting in an upregulation of PAPD5 expression in Huntington’s disease (HD).

It is a rapid and non-specific response that is present from birth and does not target specific pathogens. It also activates adaptive immune response by antigen presentation.

Association of Alternative Anticoagulation Strategies and Outcomes in Patients With Ischemic Stroke While Taking a Direct Oral Anticoagulant
Abstract Background and Objectives Ischemic stroke despite a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) is increasingly common and portends a high risk of subsequent ischemic stroke. The efficacy and safety of antithrombotic regimens after the condition are unclear. We aimed to compare the outcomes of patients with ischemic stroke despite DOACs with and without an alternative antithrombotic regimen and determine the risk factors of recurrent ischemic stroke while on anticoagulation.

890-nm-excited SHG and fluorescence imaging enabled by an all-fiber mode-locked laser
Abstract We demonstrate second-harmonic generation (SHG) microscopy excited by the ∼890-nm light frequency-doubled from a 137-fs, 19.4-MHz, and 300-mW all-fiber mode-locked laser centered at 1780 nm. The mode-locking at the 1.7-µm window is realized by controlling the emission peak of the gain fiber, and uses the dispersion management technique to broaden the optical spectrum up to 30 nm. The spectrum is maintained during the amplification and the pulse is compressed by single-mode fibers.
