Firm-Level Climate Risk and Stock Price Crash: Does Investor Attention or Sentiment Matter?
1 Introduction Climate change risks, particularly extreme weather events and global warming, have become increasingly significant worldwide, with profound implications for financial markets. At the firm level, environmental exposures can materially affect both corporate performance and investor behaviour (Lopez et al. 2017; Dong and Liu 2023; Zhao et al. 2024).

A Stable [4,3]Peri‐acene Diradicaloid: Synthesis, Structure, and Electronic Properties
Communication PDF ShareShare Abstract The synthesis of peri‐fused acenes (peri‐acenes) with two or more rows is challenging due to their intrinsic open‐shell diradical character. Herein, we report the isolation of a derivative (4) of [4,3]peri‐acene in crystalline form. The parent [4,3]peri‐acene, containing three rows of tetracene, has a large diradical character (y0=94.8 %) originating from aromatic stabilization.
Benzidine/Quinoidal‐Benzidine Linked, Superbenzene Based π‐Conjugated Chiral Macrocycles and Cyclophanes
Research Article Jishan Wu Corresponding Author E-mail address: chmwuj@nus.edu.sg National University of Singapore, 3 Science Drive 3, 117543 Singapore, SINGAPORE Search for more papers by this author Abstract Synthesis of fully conjugated cyclophanes containing large‐size polycyclic aromatics is a challenging task.
Nitrogen-Doped Heptazethrene and Octazethrene Diradicaloids
Nitrogen-Doped Heptazethrene and Octazethrene Diradicaloids We report the synthesis and electronic properties of nitrogen-doped heptazethrene (HZ) and octazethrene (OZ) diradicaloids, including the parent HZ-1N and OZ-1N, and the N-aryl-substituted dications, HZ-2N and OZ-2N. The unprotected HZ-1N and OZ-1N were generated in situ, but they are not stable enough for isolation.
What Does Nanoparticle Stability Mean?
The term “nanoparticle stability” is widely used to describe the preservation of a particular nanostructure property ranging from aggregation, composition, crystallinity, shape, size, and surface chemistry. As a result, this catch-all term has various meanings, which depend on the specific nanoparticle property of interest and/or application. In this Feature Article, we provide an answer to the question, “What does nanoparticle stability mean?”.
Peri-acenoacenes
We report the challenging synthesis and electronic properties of a new type of rhombic peri-fused acene dimers, the so-called peri-acenoacenes. Compared to rectangular peri-fused peri-acenes, peri-acenoacenes show smaller diradical character and higher stability. Two soluble and stable aryl-substituted peri-acenoacenes, the peri-tetracenotetracene (TT-Ar) and peri-pentacenopentacene (PP-Ar) were synthesized and their structures are confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis.
Diazuleno‐s‐indacene Diradicaloids: Syntheses, Properties, and Local (anti)Aromaticity Shift from Neutral to Dicationic State
Non‐alternant, non‐benzenoid π‐conjugated polycyclic hydrocarbons (PHs) are expected to exhibit very different electronic properties from all‐benzenoid PHs. Reported herein are the syntheses and physical properties of four derivatives of two azulene‐fused s‐indacene isomers, the diazuleno[2,1‐a:2′,1′‐g]‐s‐indacene (DAI‐1) and diazuleno[2,1‐a:1′,2′‐h]‐s‐indacene (DAI‐2). The backbone of both isomers contains 28π electrons and is a 7‐5‐5‐6‐5‐5‐7 fused ring system.

Superoctazethrene: An Open-Shell Graphene-like Molecule Possessing Large Diradical Character but Still with Reasonable Stability
Laterally extended zethrenes can be regarded as Z-shaped nanographenes with four zigzag edges, but their synthesis is very challenging. Herein, we report the successful synthesis of by far the largest zethrene molecule, a superoctazethrene (SOZ) derivative SOZ-Cl, in crystalline form.

Curved π-Conjugated Corannulene Dimer Diradicaloids
So far, most reported open-shell singlet diradicaloids are based on planar π-conjugated molecules. Herein, we report the bridged corannulene dimer diradicaloids, Cor-D1 and Cor-D2, both showing a three-dimensional curved π-conjugated structure. Cor-D1 has a small diradical character (y0 = 5.4%) and behaves more like a closed-shell quinoidal compound at room temperature, while Cor-D2 is a typical open-shell diradicaloid with a larger diradical character (y0 = 16.9%).
Rylene Ribbons with Unusual Diradical Character
Single crystals suitable for X-ray crystallographic analysis were obtained for compounds 1, CP-QR, and CP-HR. As a result of the existence of long branched alkyl chains and weak diffraction, accurate bond-length analysis was not possible, but a planar and bent rylene backbone was observed for all three molecules as a result of the strain induced by the five-membered ring at the bay region (Figure S11x Download (10.21 MB ) Document S1.
A new species of Leptolalax (Anura: Megophryidae) from Son Tra Peninsula, central Vietnam
Morphological, acoustic and molecular analyses result in the description of Leptolalax rowleyae sp. nov., a new species of frog in the Megophryidae, belonging to the L. applebyi Rowley & Cao species group from central Vietnam.
Stable 2D anti-ferromagnetically coupled fluorenyl radical dendrons
We report the first class of stable, two-dimensional (2D) anti-ferromagnetically coupled dendritic polyradicaloids. Kinetically blocked fluorenyl radical was used to build up the first and second generation dendrons FR-G1 and FR-G2 containing three and seven fluorenyl units, respectively. The neighboring fluorenyl radicals in FR-G1 and FR-G2 show moderate anti-ferromagnetic exchange interaction, resulting in a doublet and quartet ground state, respectively, with a small doublet-quartet energy gap.
B-N-B Bond Embedded Phenalenyl and Its Anions
Despite the great potential of heteroatom-containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in organic optoelectronics, there are very limited reports on heteroaromatics containing a B–N–B bond in the ?-scaffold. Herein, stable 1,9-dibora-9a-azaphenalenyl (DBAP) derivatives, named BNB-embedded phenalenyls, are presented. The DBAP skeleton contains a three-center two-?-electron B–N–B moiety with 12 ?-electrons and can be regarded as the isoelectronic structure of the phenalenyl cation.
Fluorenyl Based Macrocyclic Polyradicaloids
Synthesis of stable open-shell polyradicaloids including control of intramolecular spin–spin interactions is a challenging topic in organic chemistry and materials science. Herein, we report the synthesis and physical characterization of two series of fluorenyl based macrocyclic polyradicaloids.
Higher Order π-Conjugated Polycyclic Hydrocarbons with Open-Shell Singlet Ground State: Nonazethrene versus Nonacene
Higher order acenes (i.e., acenes longer than pentacene) and extended zethrenes (i.e., zethrenes longer than zethrene) are theoretically predicted to have an open-shell singlet ground state, and the radical character is supposed to increase with extension of molecular size. The increasing radical character makes the synthesis of long zethrenes and acenes very challenging, and so far, the longest reported zethrene and acene derivatives are octazethrene and nonacene, respectively.
