1 INTRODUCTION Ketogenic diet or keto diet (KD) is known as a low-carbohydrate (5%–10%), medium-protein (15%–20%), and high-fat (75%) diet (Sukkar et al., 2021). The diet was initially invented in the early twentieth century and used to treat children with refractory epilepsy. Nowadays, it is one of the most widely followed diets for weight loss as well as some other metabolic disorders as a nutritional intervention therapy (Hermanussen et al., 2018).
