The insects were reared in plastic cages at 27?±?1?°C, 70?±?5% relative humidity, and a photoperiod of 14?h:10?h (L:D). The larvae were fed on an artificial diet consisting of yeast powder, sucrose and corn and wheat flour. The third-instar larvae were transferred into a plastic basin containing sand for pupation.
