Household fuel use and incident chronic respiratory disease among middle-aged and older Chinese adults: findings from CHARLS
Abstract Household polluted-fuel use has been associated with adverse respiratory outcomes, but longitudinal evidence in ageing populations remains limited. We analysed five waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study. Among 5,712 adults aged ≥ 45 years who were free of chronic respiratory disease (CRD) at baseline and had complete primary-analysis data, household fuel use was assessed in 2011 and incident CRD through 2020.
Fault-tolerant control and safe shutdown of free swing joints of space manipulator based on trajectory optimization
Abstract Introduction: Space manipulators are prone to free-swinging joint failures during on-orbit servicing missions, which turn the system from fully actuated to underactuated. Conventional emergency braking strategies result in slow energy dissipation, large base attitude disturbances, and high collision risks, making safe and smooth shutdown difficult to achieve. Methods: This paper proposes a Trajectory Optimization-based Safe Stopping (TO-SST) method.
A prognostic nomogram for 1-year mortality in ICU patients with heart failure and comorbid depression
Abstract Heart failure (HF) is a common condition in the intensive care unit (ICU) and significantly impacts patients’ physical and mental health, with depression affecting up to 30% of this population. This study aims to analyze clinical characteristics and prognostic factors for HF patients with comorbid depression and to establish a multivariable nomogram for prognosis.
