1 INTRODUCTION Normal brain aging is a complex process that occurs in absence of concurrent pathology, and brain volume estimation is important for understanding this process. A variety of neurodegenerative diseases, such as multiple sclerosis (Ghione et al., 2019; Moridi et al., 2022), Alzheimer's disease (Boublay et al., 2020), and vascular dementia (Li et al., 2017), can accelerate the process of brain atrophy.
